Solent NHS Children's Therapy Service


Who are Solent NHS?

Solent NHS support children from birth to 19 years across the whole of Hampshire, Southampton and Portsmouth.

What do they do?

Solent NHS provides Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy for children and young people aged 0-19yrs who need specialist help.

  • Your child may benefit from Speech Therapy if they have difficulties with speech, language or communication and/or if they have difficulties with feeding and swallowing. 
  • Occupational Therapy may help your child if they have difficulties that impact on their ability to plan and carry out everyday activities. 
  • Physiotherapy can help if your child has developmental difficulties and/or conditions which affect their physical development and movements.

How can I access this service?

To access the service your child can be referred by staff at their school, your GP or any other health professional.

You can also refer your child yourself.

What happens next?

The Children’s Therapy team will assess your child and then provide any care or support to meet these assessed needs.

They will offer this support in the most appropriate setting for you and your child for example at your home, at school or in a health centre.
