Local Offer
- Description
As a setting we aim to offer each and every child an opportunity to thrive and progress. We work alongside families to meet the needs of their child. We have two Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator's in the setting who have a wide range of knowledge to support children with needs, this knowledge has been gained by training and by working experience with children, we feel we learn all the time and as every child is different we are able to adapt our practice to ensure the children progress in their own way. We regularly make referrals to health visitors, speech therapists and portage, we have built a great relationship with these services where we are now known to them. We have applied for EHCP's on numerous occasions with them all being accepted, as well as inclusion funding which has allowed us to provide that 1-1 support for the children who need it. We offer the children individual education plans with support strategies that are regularly reviewed. We offer language box sessions and language groups based on speech therapy targets, we also provide the Early Talk Boost scheme which has proved successful with many children making progress, we are currently training other members of our team to provide this service.
