- What does your service do?
Ways into Work provides a Supported Employment service working with individuals known to Learning Disability Services to access paid employment. We work with each individual on a bespoke basis and undertake a vocational profile to establish their skills and aspirations. We then engage with the local business community to identify roles that match these skills and add value to their organisation. We provide on-going Job Coaching support to ensure that jobs are sustainable and everyone in the process feels supported. We work with Employers to establish creative recruitment solutions and promote the effectiveness of Work Trials and Working Interviews. Ways into Work provides support with the following areas too: • In Work Employment Benefits • Travel Training • Access to Work funding applications • Supported Apprenticeships • Supported Traineeships
- Who does your service provide for?
Ways into Work is currently commissioned to work with Individuals aged 18+ known to Learning Disability Services. We are able to work with any individual that is motivated to work and referred by a Care Manager.
- How can I start using the service?
To Access Ways into Work you would need a referral by a Care Manager and currently the service is only available to individuals known to the Learning Disability Team.
- Where is it located and what areas does it cover?
Ways into Work has a base in Basingstoke, however there are team members available to work across the county.
- How are decisions made about who can use your service?
Individuals need to be referred by a care manager, be motivated to work in a paid capacity.
- How do you communicate with service users and how are they involved in decision making?
Our service is client-centred and we communicate with clients and their circle of support in the method of their choosing.
- Is your service fully accessible?
The aim of our service is to support people with a learning disability into paid employment. We recognise that our clients may have accessibility needs which may be related to physical access or around accessible information. In all cases we are flexible and creative in meeting our client’s needs.
- What training are the staff supporting children and young people with SEN and Disabilities had or are having?
Ways into Work has over 18 years’ experience of delivering high quality Supported Employment Services and all staff either have or are working towards their Level 3 Certificate in Supported Employment. Team members also access Training in Systematic Instruction which enables them to ensure tasks can be broken down and made accessible. All team members undergo Safeguarding training. We have in house expertise on supporting individuals with a Learning Disability and Autistic Spectrum Conditions.
- How will I know my child is safe?
Ways into Work undertake a robust Risk Assessment for any work that we undertake with people in the community and workplace. We work closely with Families/Carers and Care Managers to ensure that we have up to date and accurate information that can inform any risk assessments undertaken. We have a clear complaints procedure.
