What does your service do?

I work from my home in a semi detached house in Fleet. I have a secure, 180ft enclosed rear garden for outside play. I also have a large patio and an area of artificial grass for the winter. I do 2 school runs a day to Heatherside Infant/Junior School I work alone. When a child joins my setting parents/carers are asked to complete an ‘All About Me Form’ which focuses on their home life, interests and language to help me identify the types of activities or support I need to look at providing. I feel it is important that your child enjoys their time here and looks forward to coming to my setting. I give continuous care, supporting your child whilst they are away from home. Routine is important and routine equals safety, and safety equals happy children. I give continuous care supporting your child when away from their home helping them build confidence and positive self-esteem. Each child’s learning journey is shared with their parents or carers.

Who does your service provide for?

OurYou can contact me via e-mail, telephone or through a third party Professional body.

How can I start using the service?

OurYou can contact me via e-mail, telephone or through a third party Professional body.

Where is it located and what areas does it cover?

I am located on Pondtail in Fleet

How are decisions made about who can use your service?

If I have space then parents/carers or another professional body can approach me. Together we will discuss whether we feel my setting is the most appropriate for the child

How do you communicate with service users and how are they involved in decision making?

Some child referrals from another professional body may advise what type and how much support a child requires, but with most children in my setting I will observe and make a decision on whether your child will benefit from extra support with the additional information from the 2 year check, when necessary. This will be discussed with my Professional Association of Childcare and Early Years (PACEY) co-ordinator and taken from there. An Individual Education Plan will be devised for your child with your input. This is reviewed each term to learn what impact the support has had on your child, and what should be put in to place

Is your service fully accessible?

Access is through the back door has 2 steps and also 2 steps at the rear of the property. The garden is easily accessible. I have no wheelchair access. The ground floor of my house is used for childminding and I have downstairs toilet facilities.

What training are the staff supporting children and young people with SEN and Disabilities had or are having?

Training is undertaken regularly to ensure necessary knowledge and to enhance my professional development as the need arises. I am always happy to work closely with parent carers and outside agencies to learn specific skills to support children with additional needs. I have recently received epi-pen training I am first aid trained, have an NVQ 3 childcare qualification and have trained at level 3 safeguarding.

How will I know my child is safe?

I am responsible for ensuring your child is safe and secure; both emotionally and physically throughout the transition from home-based care to pre-school and later to full time education. All children are given equal and fair opportunities to learn and develop regardless of age, sex, religion, stage of development, race or disability. My setting is risk assessed before each morning for safety. The children help check for broken toys. I encourage children to have respect for themselves and others. Clear and consistent boundaries for all the children are put in place as required. I am trained in first aid. All medication is stored in a secure place. A record book is kept of all medications held and dosage, time of administration is recorded and signed by the parent. I and any other adults in the house over the age of 16 are Criminal records Bureau (CRB) checked. I have trained at level 3 safeguarding which is updated regularly. I do not use photographic devices unless all parents and carers have given their consent.

How are parents involved in the setting/school/college? How can I be involved?

Services for Young Children, Children’s Centers, Sure Start Centers and Health Visitors would all be able to provide information and advice. I have an open door policy and parents and carers are welcome to come in at any time to discuss their child’s progress, face to face. I can be contacted on 07890 697804 Mon-Fri 7.30am – 6pm. I do not have a website for my services.
