Woodmill Paddleability Sessions

Offering services to:
  • Secondary school aged children
  • Primary school aged children
  • Young people 16-18

Our paddleability programme exists to give everyone the chance to canoe or kayak regardless of their disability. By creating challenging, fun and rewarding sessions adapted to suit each participant needs these weekly sessions have contributed to so many peoples lives. This is one of our key Community programmes and is supported by dedicated volunteers. Getting out in a boat is a great sport for everyone and at Woodmill we are proud to work with local groups with disabilities, schools and youth organisations to offer opportunities for people to learn to paddle. We have some specialist equipment which allows us to teach those who would normally not be able to participate because of a disability need. Special Group sessions are available to be booked for people of all disabilities and capabilities. Our other activities include Archery, climb and abseil. There is also bug hunt and pond dipping.

We also run Open Days where everyone is welcome 4 times a year (generally in March, May, July and September) from 10 – 4pm. We have BBQ and all activities open to try with instructors on board. We also have a Halloween Function in October which is an event enjoyed by everyone. Booking is essential in order to make special arrangements Please bring a completed medical form for each person taking part to your first session [click here] for student form and [click here] for adult form. All kit is provided, you just need to bring a towel and change of clothes in case you fall in!
