Step by Step are able to deliver sessions offering health and wellbeing support to young people, either in the form of after school sessions, group work based at our Aldershot Foyer, or on a one to one basis. The areas covered include:

  • Self esteem
  • Bullying
  • Eating disorders
  • Alcohol and substance misuse
  • Smoking
  • Risky behaviour

This also includes offering information, advice and guidance on sexual health and contraception, pregnancy and Chlamydia testing and condom distribution where appropriate. Step By Step is also able to deliver sex and relationships work to small groups of young people within the session. Step By Step can undertake alcohol screening, and run a confidential service signposting young people to other specialist services as appropriate to meet identified needs. The service operates in schools and from community bases. Step By Step works towards the following outcomes:

  • An increase in young people signposted to other services where appropriate
  • To provide informal learning opportunities to young people in a safe and supportive environment
  • To support the aims and objectives of the community safety partnership to reduce drugs and alcohol incidents.
  • Improved sexual health
  • A reduction in teenage conception and incidence of Chlamydia
  • A reduction in STI's
  • A reduction in risk taking behaviour
  • Improved anger management Session content can be tailored to meet identified focus desired by purchasers.
