Creative Dance Classes in Alton

Coronavirus status:

Collective Motion Dance offer fun, friendly and inclusive dance classes for young people and adults with learning disabilities / additional needs. 

Dance classes include structured exercises, creative tasks using sensory props and learning a routine to a song from the charts or a musical.

Activities are designed to help your self expression, build confidence, increase functional fitness and develop your social skills.

You are welcome to bring a support worker with you.

Where is it located and what areas does it cover?

Beech Village Hall, Alton.

We accept from across Hampshire/ Surrey.

How are decisions made about who can use your service?

On a case by case basis after discussion.

How do you communicate with service users and how are they involved in decision making?

Dancers are involved in the creative decisions relating to class content. For instance choosing the music for each dance routine. This is discussed face to face during the class. Provision is made for alternative forms of communication such as Makaton and communication books.

Is your service fully accessible?

The classes are accessible, however there is no Changing Places facility at the hall.

What training are the staff supporting children and young people with SEN and Disabilities had or are having?

Class teachers are qualified teachers with extensive experience of working with young people with SEND. All teachers have Makaton training and have attended courses on specific conditions such as Autistic Spectrum Conditions. This training is passed on to support staff during induction.

How will I know my child is safe?

All staff have completed Safeguarding training and have up to date DBS checks.
