Creative Dance Classes in Alton

Collective Motion Dance offer fun, friendly and inclusive dance classes for children, young people and adults with learning disabilities / additional needs.

Activities are designed to help your self expression, build confidence, increase functional fitness and develop your social skills.

We run three different classes:

  1. Sensory Movement classes are ideal if your child enjoys wiggling to music and exploring sensory props. Parents/Carers are welcome to stay and join in. Most suitable for dancers with severe/complex needs. Guidance age: 3 years+
  2. Creative Dance classes are perfect if your child enjoys learning simple routines, working on performance skills and expressing themselves through weekly themes. Parents/Carers enjoy 40 minutes chatting to families with similar experiences in the foyer. Most suitable for dancers with moderate needs who can follow instructions (most of the time). Guidance age: 6-14 years.
  3. Creative Jazz Dance classes are fantastic if your young person loves learning more advanced routines, introducing elements of dance technique and building their confidence to perform both their own and teacher's choreography.

You are welcome to bring a support worker with you.

Dancers are involved in the creative decisions within classes, for instance choosing the music for dance routines. Weekly creative themes often relate to dancers' interests.
