We have cared for children with: hearing, sight, speech problems. Also we have cared for children with Behavioural difficulties and Autism. We do school pre-school and school runs. We offer full time and part time places and holiday care.
- How can I start using the service?
You would need to call us and we can arrange an interview for you to come and see the setting and what we offer. This will then be followed up with filling in relevant required paperwork and then follow with settling in sessions to settle your child.
- Where is it located and what areas does it cover?
We are between Ashley and New Milton in a residential area. We are within walking distance from Ashley schools and local pre-schools We care for children from a wider area. But mainly New Milton, Ashley, Barton and Hordle.
- How are decisions made about who can use your service?
We are open to all sectors of the community. We will decided on an individual basis on how we can provide care for individuals and needs they may have.
- How do you communicate with service users and how are they involved in decision making?
We use an electronic sign in record keeping system called BabysDays to record your child's development which follows the EYFS. We will also use a daily diary where needed for younger children. Or people without access to the on-line services or with English as an additional language etc. We complete 2 year old checks alongside the parents. We will discuss verbally what has happened each day with your child. We can also arrange meetings to discuss any concerns you have about your child's developmental needs. We will also have regular meetings to discuss your child's ongoing development and Next Steps.
- Is your service fully accessible?
We have a purpose built playroom. Play, rest, eating and hygiene needs are all met on one floor. The house is accessible through a side or front door. We also have wide back patio door that can be accessed through the back of the house. We have a downstairs toilet, dining area, play area for art and craft etc. We have a secluded secure back garden of a good size with hard and soft areas and it is easily accessible through low level double doors. We are close to local parks and schools and do school runs to New Milton infants and juniors and also Ashley infants and juniors. We also cover most local pre-schools .We can on occasions also offer a pick up and drop off service.
- What training are the staff supporting children and young people with SEN and Disabilities had or are having?
Regular training is undertaken to keep our setting as up to date as possible. We also read and follow media for any interesting research we may find helpful. We are always eager to work with organisations that parents may already be involved with. I have recently completed a level 4 in Safeguarding. Have current first aid and hold a level 3 in Home-based childcare diploma. Recently completed food hygiene course through PACEY.
- How will I know my child is safe?
We have strong safeguarding policies that parents are made fully aware of with their own copy. You are asked to sign and abide by these while in our setting. We risk asses regularly and when changes occur. We have regular fire drills. We have up to date certificates in Food hygiene, First aid, allergy info, safeguarding Level 3 & 4. We have visitor register and closely monitor anyone visiting the setting. We risk asses all outings and risk asses & maintain all vehicles and equipment & resources used by the children.
