About BRAAIN

BRAAIN was founded by three Mums of children with special needs. When their children were diagnosed with ASC & ADHD the Mums struggled to access the information that they needed to support their children. The more they researched, the more they realised there was so much support available but it was extremely difficult to find - families were potentially missing out. So, the idea of BRAAIN was born. BRAAIN stands for Be Ready ADHD ASD Information Network.

We are a voluntary organisation based on the Surrey and Hampshire borders. We were formed to try and make life a little bit easier for parent and carers of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Condition (ASD/C) by providing them with a single website to find local clubs, support groups, financial support and lots more.

Parenting a child with special needs is tough. It can be extremely isolating, stressful and exhausting. When faced with an Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) diagnosis and/or Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) diagnosis it’s an extremely challenging time, the whole family needs to adjust. A child with ASC/ADHD has the right to appropriate support and care to help them to flourish both emotionally and practically.

BRAAIN was formed to help parents navigate their way through an ADHD or an ASC diagnosis. To help parents find the information that they need quickly and simply to help them provide the best possible support to their child. BRAAIN will work with other services, charities and organisations to form a network of information. BRAAIN will have links to various websites, organisations and leaflets on the website providing families with a central place to find everything they need.

We also run a telephone information line. You can book an appointment through our website. We discuss what information and support you are looking for.

There is also the Facebook group with over 300 members which enables parents to talk within a closed group.
