AQA learning opportunities for Children in Care

Coronavirus status:
Learning Mentors Programme for Children in Care supporting AQA Unit Awards. We can provide trained youth work staff to work with individual children in care to support them in their learning and personal development needs. The work of a Youth learning mentor can include: Identifying what difficulties are preventing the child or young person from reaching their full potential Agreeing targets for attendance, academic achievement, timekeeping and homework Developing anti-bullying strategies Developing personal skills to improve self-confidence, self-esteem, and resilience Offering emotional support and motivation Supporting children and young people through personal crises Helping pupils to modify their behaviour using techniques such as anger management Working closely with teachers, carers and other professionals to support young people to achieve AQA unit Awards within their environment. The youth learning mentor will be able to travel to the home of the young person to deliver the programme, meeting on a regular basis as agreed by relevant professionals.

£60 per 2 hour session. We can deliver AQA unit awards based on the interests of the young person. However, there could be an additional cost to the session dependent upon what AQA has been chosen and worked on with the youth learning mentor. Transport can be provided. We can also visit children in care and care leavers in the adjoining counties of Hampshire £ however individual quotations for this work will apply.
