Patients with alcohol dependence present to a broad scope of health needs, both in crisis with complicated alcohol withdrawal or with drug dependence underlying their other medical health. In response to demands, our helpline and chat room can give specialist help, while still following health and safety responses to coronavirus. In addition, as societal circumstances such as reduced income, being isolated at home, may result in an increased number and incidence of patients presenting in acute alcohol or drug withdrawal, we can give help at a time when other services are scarce and unable to deal with them.
