Tiny Steps pre school limited

Coronavirus status: OPEN
Coronavirus status: OPEN

Tiny Steps Pre-school is based in a learning through play ethos this allows children to freely explore and develop their learning while building on their own interests. When we expose children to different environments and various learning experiences, we allow them to explore their self-awareness and gain a sense of the world around them.

We work closely with parents, who understand their children best, to gain insight into your child's likes and dislikes, this insight helps to inform our provision and how we support individual children.

How are decisions made about who can use your service?

Places are rewarded on a first come first served basis, Once all our sessions are taken your child will be put on a waiting list and you will be notified when a space becomes available.

How do you communicate with service users and how are they involved in decision making?

Parents are involved on a daily basis, both with their child's next steps and with helping  us to get to know their likes. dislikes and can do's. As parents you are our best resource in understanding how to support and encourage your child. At collection and drop off times your key person will be available to discuss any worries, concerns or preferences you might have.

Is your service fully accessible?

The building is fully accessible physically and with support from outside professionals we hope that it would be fully accessible to children of every ability.

What training are the staff supporting children and young people with SEN and Disabilities had or are having?

All staff are fed back training from termly SEN briefings to ensure a continual and constant support through out the sessions. The SENCO of pre school has worked with children for over 20 years, holds a degree in childhood studies as well as completing the initial SEN training and the Portage training.

How will I know my child is safe?

Your child will be safe and secure within our pre-school all entrances are secured and only accessible from the inside, physically the room and equipment is checked daily as well as all staff having read the risk assessment forms. All staff have been DBS checked to ensure they are safe to work with children and no child will be left alone with a single member of staff to ensure the safety of both child and adult. If your child has a special need that might mean physical intervention is required we would welcome a meeting between staff and parents to discuss how this can be safely carried out in a way that won't further distress the child.
