1:1 mentoring

Weekly 1:1 mentoring for children and young people who are considered at risk, or are struggling with self-esteem, the ability to manage their emotions or behaviour. We work with children from challenging family backgrounds, those struggling with anger issues, those at risk of exclusion from school, others dealing with issues such as self-harm, addictions, bullying, sexual health issues, sexual identity as well as young carers. The support is offered by means of a weekly session with a worker, giving the young person the opportunity to discuss their issues, and work towards finding a better way to manage their feelings and emotions and in turn their behaviours. For specific issues, such as anger management, there is a programme to follow. As a holistic approach, we are able to offer family support to parents of the children we work with, where necessary. This is in the form of parenting and anger management groups, or other relevant 1:1 or group work.
