Reach Out - October Half Term Workshops

Supporting people with:

Join us this October Half Term for 2 fun crafty days: 

 

Monday 23 October
10-12noon | Exploring metal work – Get creative in our jewellery studio, experiment with texturing / stamping / rolling aluminium and copper shapes to make personalised designs.
1-3pm | Wire work and beading – Add to your creations made in the morning to make finished wearable / functional pieces or explore the possibilities of making mini wire and bead sculptures.

Thursday 26 October
10-12noon | Kurinuki Pumpkins - Simply put, kurinuki is a Japanese term referring to the hand building technique of starting with a solid block of clay and hollowing it out (just like you would carve a pumpkin!)
1-3pm | Skull marble runs. Inspired by the shape of a skull, design and create your own ceramic marble run!

These workshops are specifically for young people with additional needs. You just need a valid Gateway Card+ to book. If it's your fist time a member of the team might call you to discuss your childs needs ahead of the session. Parents not required to stay.

Where is it located and what areas does it cover?

At Making Space in Havant, although peple come from across Hampshire to use the services.

How are decisions made about who can use your service?

As long as you have a valid Hampshire Gateway card+ you can come

Participants can tell us if there's something they'd like to do.

Is your service fully accessible?

yes

What training are the staff supporting children and young people with SEN and Disabilities had or are having?

safeguarding / autuism and disability awareness training.

How will I know my child is safe?

we are a secure one level building. our class sizes are vey small (max of 6) with lots of adult support in the session. Parents are welcome to stay until their child is settled.
