What does your service do?

We support all children who have a Special Educational Need and work closely with outside agencies to ensure we are meeting the needs of the individual child.

We provide stimulating activities to support a child's developmental needs through the child's interest and likes.

We work closely with parents and carers to build a strong and consistent partnership to ensure the child achieves the best possible outcomes.

Who does your service provide for?

We provide day care for all children from 3 months old to 5 years. We offer full and part time sessions either all year round or term time only to fit in with the families requirements.

How can I start using the service?

Parents and carers should contact the manager to arrange a suitable time to view the nursery either virtually or in person (once lockdown eases). Parents can then discuss possible start dates and ask any questions they have straight to the manager or deputy manager.

Where is it located and what areas does it cover?

First Friends Nursery is located in the centre of Eastleigh close to Eastleigh train station.

Is your service fully accessible?

The setting is all on one floor. We have double doors to enter the building.

We have an accessible toilet.

The children's toilet cubicles are spacious allowing staff to support the child where need.

We have double doors to enter the main room of the nursery.

What training are the staff supporting children and young people with SEN and Disabilities had or are having?

The manager of the setting is undertaking a Nasen SEND Level 3 award which is a recognised award in Special Educational Needs.

Staff are informed of and trained during staff meetings when needed. Outside agencies are invited to come in to talk to staff about how best to meet the needs of each child with SEN.

Courses are available to staff through training websites which look at more specific needs.

How will I know my child is safe?

Each child is assigned a key person who will care for your child each day.

They will build strong relationships with you and your family to ensure they know as much about your child as they possibly can.

They will also provide handovers at the end of the day, detailing your childs days and how they have been.

The nursery is secured by a key pad code which only staff know therefore no one can enter the building without authorisation.
