The Participation & Lifelong Learning service is part of Hampshire County Council Children’s services, aiming  to inspire ambition and support success. The service encompasses four different areas;

Hampshire Futures:

  • The Careers Team provides all young people with access to a wide range of information and resources to support their pathway to achieving long-term career goals.
  • The digital careers information platform includes careers information, advice and activities to help with future planning and improving employability skills.
  • The Education Participation Team monitors the destination of young people after they leave school (Years 12 and 13) and supports young people not participating in education, training and employment (sometimes referred to as NEETs)

Hampshire Achieves:

  • Young People's Learning focuses on preparing young people with additional needs to make a successful transition to adult life.
  • The Pathways programme supports young people to build confidence in making personal and independent choices
  • Supported Internships are designed for young people who really want to move into employment.
  • Functional skills are offered in both maths and English, tailored to a range of abilities.
  • Hampshire Learns offers courses that develop the skills, confidence, motivation and resilience for adults aged 19 and over, in Hampshire
  • Multiply offers Free maths support for adults aged 19 and over who do not currently have a Level 2/GCSE maths at grade 4 (previously known as grade C).

Hampshire Outdoors:

  • The Educational Visits Team provides advice, guidance and training for off-site educational visits and outdoor learning.
  • The Outdoors Participation Team offers a variety of activities which lay the groundwork for the rest of a young person’s life, enabling them to become successful in education and employment.
  • Physical Activity, PE and School Sport provides advice and guidance for schools and colleges in PE, School Sport and Physical Activity.
  • Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE) for young people aged 14-25, allowing them to challenge themselves to gain new skills and build confidence.
  • Bikeability delivers the Department for Transport cycle training for schools.

Secure & Specialist Education:

  • Future You is designed to support learners for whom mainstream school is inaccessible as a result of medical or emotional vulnerabilities.
  • Our Education Units operate within secure hospitals, secure children’s homes and specialist hospital settings providing a personalised education timetable
