- How does the setting/school/college know if children/young people need extra help and what should I do if I think my child/young person may have special educational needs?
We have a team of 6 staff all with relevant experience ranging from level 2 to a fully qualified Early Years teacher that monitor and observe each Childs development. Where a need is identified we put all necessary steps and seek other professionals to help the individual child develop and reach their full potential.
- How will early years setting/school/college staff support my child/young person?
With our very dedicated and very qualified team we follow the statutory guidance to provide stimulating experiences both indoors and out doors that engage your child in learning. We plan individual settling in sessions for each child to ensure they feel safe and secure before they start their learning journey.
- How will the curriculum be matched to my child's/young person's needs?
Our learning environment can be adapted to meet the needs and interests of each child. We consider each Childs interests when planing activities.
- How will both you and I know how my child/young person is doing and how will you help me to support my child's/young person's learning?
Each child is issued with their own individual online learning journal which parents can access and any point and contribute with home learning. Parents are also greeted at the beginning and end of the session by a senior member of staff where a full and detailed account of their day will be discussed and the Childs key worker is available to chat to parents at any time. We have termly meeting and reports that monitor each Childs learning progress.
- What support will there be for my child's/young person's overall well being?
Each child is given a key worker that they will build a close bond with and they will monitor the child for changes in behaviour and needs.
- What specialist services and expertise are avaliable at or accessed by the setting/school/college?
There is a fully Qualified Early Years Teacher in the setting every day to ensure that all children are making good progress in learning. We work closely with other professionals to support other learning difficulties such as Speech and language Therapy and Portage.
- What training have the staff supporting children and young people with SEND had? Are any being trained currently?
We have ongoing training with an online provider called Noodle Now and staff regularly with courses relevant to our current cohort. All staff have all relevant statutory training and every member of staff has a full Paediatric First Aid certificate
- How will my child/young person be included in activities outside this classroom including school trips?
We are surrounded by beautiful grounds that are safely away from roads. We regularly have local walks that all children participate in. Where children have more specific needs they will be on a 1;1 staff ratio to ensure learning needs and safety needs are being met.
- How accessible is the setting/school/college enviroment?
The setting is easily accessible and is located in the village. We are located near a train station and near roads so parents can get to and from the setting with ease.
- How will the setting/school/college prepare and support my child/young person to join the setting/school/college or the next stage of education and life?
We have tailored individual settling in sessions to meet the individual needs of each child. When children transition to their next stage in learning or move to another setting we do a detailed hand over and a details transition report to help support their next steps in learning.
- How are the setting's/school's/college's resources allocated and matched to children's/young people's special educational needs?
We have a wide range of resources available to suit the needs of each child and as a parkway setting they are regularly changed to meet the needs of each child.
- How is the decision made about what type and how much support my child/young person will receive?
This decision is made with evidence gathered from parents, key worker and other professionals.
- How are parents involved in the setting/school/college? How can I be involved?
Parents are of paramount importance and are recognised as their Childs primary educator. We strive to have the best possible working relationship with each parent to ensure the safety, well being and e
